Mrs. Toland joined the office in 2005 as a Licensed Dental Hygienist. In 2009 she became Office Manager where she has excelled at assisting patients with insurance claims and questions, the everyday operations of the office and continues to keep up her clinical skills with part time hygiene practice as well as helping us out in the clinical aspect of care. Courtney is efficient and always getting the job done. She has an excellent sense of humor and truly cares about helping people.
In her spare time she finds herself providing care on the Give Kids a Smile Dental Bus, or spending time with her family and friends, helping out in the classrooms and baking. She loves to curl up with a good book and a blanket.
Mrs. Ven Huizen started with Dr. Bishop in 1994 as an assistant. She then attended Illinois Central College and obtained her Dental Hygiene degree and License in 1999, scoring the highest in her class on the National Boards. At the office she is loved by her patients and counted upon to provide excellence in everything she does. She has a caring and gentle touch and is known for her thoroughness and attention to detail. She is also known to sometimes dance when no one’s looking!
She participates in the Give Kids A Smile Program on her days off. She is an avid runner who has completed two marathons and eight half marathons. She also loves to spectate her kids’ sports activities and read.
Tina came to our office as a part time hygienist in 2010. She also works part time at Clinton Dental Associates. She makes the trek from Thomson to our office and adds spirit, spunk, passion (about everything she does!) and humor. Tina knows how to keep things moving and get things done. She exhibits excellent life and people skills. Tina always has a positive attitude and perspective. She brings great energy to the office.
When she is not running marathons or half marathons, you can find her at the campground or going for kayak rides. Tina loves the outdoors, especially the mountains of Colorado, where she takes an annual Harley trip. And if there are any hours left in the day, she enjoys a good book.
Erika graduated number one in her class from Midwest Technical Institute with her Dental Assisting Certificate in August 2016. She brings excellent chairside skills and sincere compassion to our office, as well as a new level of organization! She loves making patients feel comfortable and loves to help give them a healthy smile that they love and deserve. In her spare time, she enjoys playing co-ed, slow pitch softball, spending time with family and watching her son perform in Taekwondo.
